Florida high school worker investigated for sexual misconduct


BLOUNTSTOWN, Fla. (WMBB) – A Blountstown high school worker is under criminal investigation after she allegedly had sex with college students.

“We have received information. Recently there was an allegation at Blountstown High School that involved the possibility of an employee of the school system, ”Calhoun County Sheriff Glenn Kimbrel said.

When we asked Sheriff Kimbrel about reports of a school employee having sex with students, he told us his assistants were investigating those reports.

He also told us that the employee allegedly sent inappropriate texts or Instagram DMs to one or more students in the high school.

He confirmed that the employee under investigation helped coach a sport on campus.

“At the moment it’s an ongoing investigation and we don’t feel comfortable releasing more information at this time until we complete the investigation,” Kimbrel said.

Calhoun County School District Superintendent Darryl Taylor declined to comment on the reports or the investigation.

Blountstown High School principal Tracy Wood was not at school Wednesday to comment.

Vice Principal Link Barber said she called due to illness and he was unwilling to comment on the matter either.

Sheriff Kimbrel said more information will be released once the investigation is completed.

Kimbrel said he hoped to conclude the investigation within a week and a half.
