Chandigarh: The Congressional government of Punjab has filed a lawsuit against Akali Dal’s leader and former minister Bikram Majithia over a drug case. According to reports, a case has been registered against the head of the State Criminal Cell in Mohali. In this regard, the leader of the Punjab Congress, Navjot Singh Sidhu, said that after 5.5 years of fighting the corrupt system led by the Badal family and the captain, action is now being taken for the ED and STF report. against Majithia.

Akali Dal’s chief, who has yet to comment on the FIR, denied all the allegations against him and said they were politically motivated.
He even received an apology from Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi party boss Arvind Kejriwal in 2018 after a defamation lawsuit on similar charges, following the state’s previous elections when the drugs were in the spotlight for the last time.
Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal has also spoken out strongly in favor of Mr. Majithia in the past.
Last month, Mr. Badal accused Mr. Sidhu of resorting to “extra-constitutional” measures by ordering the state government to file a bogus case against Mr. Majithia.
