Three men, including a pastor, are charged with decades of child abuse, dating back to the 1980s. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in Florida said it executed a search warrant for the Body of Christ Church on Wednesday, as well as a warrant for the arrest of the pastor Paul Dyall, 78, on site. He is charged with capital sexual assault on a victim 11 years of age or younger. This raid took place during services, according to WTSP.

Authorities have executed arrest warrants against Jerome Teschendorf68, in Newalla, Oklahoma, and Vernon Williamson, 85, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, the sheriff’s office said. Both are charged with capital sexual violence.

“In September 2020, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Special Assault Unit received a report of possible sexual abuse that occurred within the Jacksonville Body of Christ Assembly Church located at 6350 Old Kings Road North,” the sheriff’s office wrote.

Investigators said they found children were victims of sexual and physical abuse dating back more than 30 years.

According to sources cited by OMCP, several alleged victims said one or all three men abused them as children in the 1980s.

A woman, currently 50, said she was abused from age five to 14, according to the outlet. Another said she was seven years old.

“After the abuse that has been happening in this ‘church’ for years, it’s time for the victims to get the justice they deserve,” a local woman said on condition of anonymity. His family members belong to the church.

Citing conversations with victims and witnesses, authorities suggest more suspects are involved. There could also be more casualties.
