Tacoma Police search man in armed home invasion of apartment


Tacoma Police are looking for a suspect after a man armed with a gun broke into an apartment Tuesday morning, demanded money from the woman who lived there and attempted to take him away. ‘sexually assault.

Tacoma Police Department solicits the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

The home invasion occurred around 4:30 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 5500 block of Cheyenne Loop Road South, police said.

A man forced his way into the woman’s apartment and attempted to sexually assault her. Police said the man asked him for money and then fled on foot. It is not known if anything was taken away during the flight.

The suspect arrived at the apartment with cleaning supplies. He left them behind when he ran away. Police have asked residents and nearby businesses to check for missing supplies pictured in the suspect’s Crime Stoppers newsletter.

Police have also asked businesses and residents to check security cameras for footage of the suspect.

Anyone with information on suspects can call anonymously Crime stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Informants who provide information leading to an arrest and charges can be awarded up to $ 1,000.
