The Winnetka shooting kills one; Police Search Shooter – NBC Los Angeles


Los Angeles Police Department officers are asking the public for help in identifying the person responsible for shooting a man in Winnetka on Friday night.

James Keith Brooks, a 30-year-old resident of Winnetka, was gunned down while responding to a knock on his motorhome door at 11:15 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021, according to the Valley Bureau of the LAPD.

Brooks’ friends came to help him and called the paramedics, who transported Brooks from his RV from Gault Street and Winnetka Avenue to a local hospital. Brooks died in hospital from his injuries.

The LAPD did not have a description of the shooter, but asked anyone with information that could identify the person responsible to come forward.
