WRPS makes arrest after Kitchener assault


Region of Waterloo, Ontario – On March 12, 2022, at approximately 9 p.m., police responded to the Frederick and Weber streets area of ​​Kitchener to report an assault.

The victim was assaulted by a man when a witness tried to intervene. The witness was then also assaulted by the same man.

Both victims sustained non-life threatening injuries and one victim was transported to a local hospital.

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Kitchener man was charged with:

  • Aggression
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Violation of probation
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Two counts assault with a weapon

The man has been held for a bail hearing.
